9-length G3 win for Galileo blueblood

Noble Mission (5h Galileo-Kind, Danehill), younger brother of the great Frankel, added to his family’s great record at Sandown on Friday when running out a 9-length winner of the G3 Gordon Richards Stakes.

Prince Khalid Abdullah’s home-bred son of Galileo, who won the G3 Gordon Stakes as a three-year-old, looks set for a productive year after leading home a 1-2 for his sire, with last season’s G2 Great Voltigeur Stakes winner Telescope (4c Galileo-Velouette, by Darshaan) in second. Contributer (4c High Chaparral-Serisia, by Exit To Nowhere) completed a clean sweep for Coolmore sires in third.

Prince Khalid Abdullah’s racing manager Teddy Grimthorpe commented: "He’s done well both physically and mentally over the winter. He's been training really nicely at home. Prince Khalid kept him in training, so hopefully we'll progress from here.”

Winning trainer Lady Cecil added: “He's been really consistent and we thought he had a big one in him and we're very pleased with today. It's really good when a plan comes together. He's versatile in trip, track and ground so we're lucky to have lots of options but nothing specific in mind at the moment.”
