Altano claims G1 glory for Galileo

German raider Altano (7g Galileo-Alanda, by Lando) became Galileo’s latest top-level winner at Longchamp on Sunday when capturing the G1 Prix du Cadran in impressive fashion.

His trainer Andreas Wohler and jockey Eddie Pedroza were delighted by the success for the veteran stayer, who relished the testing underfoot conditions.

“When he ran in the G1 Gold Cup (at Royal Ascot) and G2 Goodwood Cup the ground was too fast for him but he really enjoyed the going out there today,” Wohler told PA Sport of the Gestut Hof Ittlingen-bred performer.
