Another 2yo stakes winner for Zoffany
Hot Team (2c Zoffany-Ahd, by Elusive Quality) made a successful cross-Channel raid for trainer Hugo Palmer on Tuesday when claiming a black-type success in France.
A Newbury novice contest winner in August, the Zoffany colt proved far superior to his opposition in the Listed Grand Criterium de Bordeaux, staged over a mile at Bordeaux Le Bouscat.
Mickael Barzalona was in the saddle on the Old Carhue Stud-bred juvenile as they coasted home four lengths clear of the field.
"He's a good colt who possesses a lot of speed,” said Barzalona. “His connections had told me not to take the lead too soon, but I was going so much better than the others! He had put up some tough battles in England and this victory should give him encouragement for the future. "
