Another Smart First Crop 2YO Winner For Ten Sovereigns

Indispensable (2f Ten Sovereigns – Invaluable, by Invincible Spirit) got off the mark on Wednesday evening to provide her first-season sire with his sixth winner. Cheveley Park Stud’s homebred juvenile filly placed in her two previous starts at Newmarket and Goodwood last month and built on those two promising runs to win by ¾ length over five-furlongs at Ripon yesterday.

Sent off the 8/11 favourite, the William Haggas trainee travelled strongly in second position throughout the early stages before seizing the lead soon after passing the two-furlong pole and kept on well to hold off the late challenge of Ziggy’s Queen.

The January-foaled bay is a granddaughter of Gr.3 Athasi Stakes winner Prima Luce (Galileo). Famed producer and King’s Stand heroine Cassandra Go features under Indispensable’s fourth dam, Rahaam. This internationally renowned family is responsible for producing a host of top-class performers in recent times, not least this year’s Derby winner, Auguste Rodin (Deep Impact).

Additionally, the Ollie Sangster trained Inquisitively (Ten Sovereigns) concluded a successful day for his sire as the juvenile colt secured 3rd place in the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes over five-furlongs at Royal Ascot yesterday evening.
