Arizona Filly Wins Second Start With Ease

What’s She At (2f Arizona – Fifer, by Soviet Star) became Arizona’s second winner in the space of 48 hours when taking Sunday’s seven furlong maiden at Redcar.

The Archie Watson-trained filly finished a promising second on debut last month and was sent off second-favourite to go one better at the weekend. Racing prominently under Hollie Doyle, she improved to lead approaching the final furlong and showed her inexperience when pricking her ears. She kept on well to beat the favourite by three lengths, with another two and a quarter lengths back to the third.

“What’s She At did it well in the end,” said the winning rider. “She was very green. She's going to be one who'll probably step up to a mile soon. She's got a nice bit of substance about her and a good attitude.”

The daughter of freshman sire Arizona is owned by SAS Thoroughbreds and bred by Minch Bloodstock. Her sire was successful at Down Royal on Friday evening when Wizard Of Odds got off the mark in the seven furlong maiden.
