Back-To-Back Listed Victories For Son Of Zoffany
Gold Tyranny (5g Zoffany - Thara, by Hennessy) continued a fine run for his sire when landing back-to-back runnings of the Listed Jubileumslopning at Jagersro on Sunday.
Racing over a mile and a half, he gained the advantage along the back straight and strode clear on the turn for home to beat Bokan (Soldier Of Fortune) in authoritative fashion.
The Lennart Reuterskiold Junior-trained five-year-old is owned by Dr Omar Zawawi and was bred by Stald Jupiter.
Miss Myers (2f Zoffany - Jabroot, by Alhaarth) provided her sire with another notable success over the weekend when taking the six and a half furlong maiden at Limerick on Saturday.
Trained by Tom Mullins for Helen Mullins, the bay was having just her second start, but put experience to good use when making headway from two furlongs out. Ridden to lead inside the final furlong, she won by two and a quarter lengths going away.
Speaking after the race, the winning trainer said, “She beats everything at home and is the best of my two-year-old fillies, today was no surprise. She'll go on any ground and is a big, raw, weak filly who can get a mile and a half next year no problem. I believe she's a black type filly, whether that's this year or next year, I don't know.”
Bred by Glenvale Stud and Lynch Bages, the daughter of Zoffany is a full-sister to dual winner Zaitana.
