Belle Rocks in Curragh G2

Belle De Crecy (4f Rock Of Gibraltar-Bloemfontain, by Cape Cross) was trained and ridden by Johnny Murtagh to star in the G2 Lanwades Stud Blandford Stakes at the Curragh on Saturday. The Rock Of Gibraltar filly was always prominent in the 10-furlong contest and took the lead in the final quarter mile before eventually beating Hot Snap by a length and three-quarters. "She probably just blew up a bit (when she ran) last week and I really fancied her today," Murtagh told irishracing.com. "Niall (McCullagh) rode her yesterday morning and he said she was in great form. She has got great heart and a great pedigree. She has done nothing but improve from day one and her sister stayed a mile and six. "I am not sure if she will run again this year but she is so tough and comes out of her races so well you’d never know." Belle De Crecy, who is owned by Andrew Tinkler, was bred by Liam Sheridan and is a half-sister to the G2 Park Hill Stakes winner The Miniver Rose (by High Chaparral). She was bought for 130,000gns as a yearling by Dwayne Woods.
