Bubbling Enters Classic Equation With Stylish Group 2 Victory
Bubbling (2f No Nay Never – Lumiere Noire, by Dashing Blade) shortened in price for both the Fillies Mile and 1,000 Guineas after running out a decisive winner of Friday’s Group 2 Rockfel Stakes at Newmarket.
An impressive winner on her second start, the Aidan O’Brien-trained filly was a little unlucky next time out when finishing third in the Listed Ingabelle Stakes won by Chantez (Wootton Bassett). She was sent off favourite on Friday and tracked the leaders in the early stages, with Ryan Moore asking her to challenge two furlongs from home. She began to run on well approaching the final furlong and led soon after, going on to score by two and a quarter lengths.
“We were delighted with that,” O’Brien later reported. “She’s definitely a filly to look forward to for next year. She could be a middle-distance filly but she’ll be fine over a mile also. I’m not sure if she’ll run again this year, possibly not, but we’ll see.”
Owned by Coolmore partners, Bubbling was bought by Alex Elliott on behalf of MV Magnier at Tattersalls Book 1 for 320,000gns. The daughter of No Nay Never was bred by Max Ervine and is a full-sister to dual Group winner and multiple Group 1 placed Wichita (No Nay Never).
