Apache Outlaw (Churchill) Wins His Maiden At Fairyhouse

Churchill Colt Lands Two Year Old Maiden

The improving Apache Outlaw (2c Churchill - Focus Of Attention, by Intense Focus) gained a deserved win in Friday’s six furlong maiden at Fairyhouse.

A promising third on debut, the Joseph O’Brien-trained colt went one better in a Curragh maiden next time out and was sent off favourite to make it third time lucky. In front throughout, he was pushed along from the two furlong marker and despite showing signs of inexperience, kept on to score by three parts of a length.

Speaking after the race, assistant trainer Brendan Powell said, “Declan said he’s got loads of ability. He’s a massive big horse and is still learning. He’s going to improve.”

Owned by ES Racing, the son of Churchill was bred by Whisperview Trading.
