Churchill Colt One To Follow After Second Success

Majestic Warrior (3c Churchill - Zam Zoom, by Dalakhani) made it two wins from three starts when running out an impressive winner of Monday’s Novice Stakes at Wolverhampton.

A debut winner in January, the James Tate-trained colt finished a promising fourth last time out at Newmarket, with the form boosted over the weekend by winner Waipiro (Australia) finishing second in the Listed Derby Trial. Stepping up to a mile and a half on Monday, Majestic Warrior was ridden to make all by Neil Callan and began to pick up the pace from four furlongs out. Drawing clear before the two furlong pole, he ran on well to win by five lengths from previous winner Intricacy.

James Tate was full of praise for the winner, saying, “We think he’s a good horse, a pattern horse, but I don’t think he’s mentally there yet. He's still a little bit green and babyish, so he’ll take a few runs to show the potential we think he has at home. He’s very much a horse to follow rather than putting him in a big race next time out.”

The exciting son of Churchill was bred by Rabbah Bloodstock and runs in the colours of Saeed Manana.
