Churchill Filly Gets Off The Mark In Style
Colombidea (3f Churchill - Ivory Choice, by Choisir) ran out a stylish winner of Tuesday’s seven furlong maiden at Wolverhampton.
Runner-up last time out, the Charlie Fellowes-trained bay was sent off favourite to go one better under Kevin Stott. She raced prominently throughout and was travelling well with three furlongs left to race, before being shaken up a furlong later. Pushed along to lead on the turn for home, she was soon clear and was ridden out to score by a comfortable length and a quarter, with another five lengths back to the third.
Owned by her trainer with A and E Frost, Colombidea was bred by Haras du Ma and Mrs Bietola. The daughter of Churchill is the first foal out of Stakes performer Ivory Choice (Choisir), who has a yearling filly by Sioux Nation.
