Lady Doris (Churchill) Wins Her Maiden At Navan

Churchill Filly Rallies For Maiden Victory

The promising Lady Doris (3f Churchill – Devious Diva, by Dr Devious) ran out a game winner of Saturday’s ten furlong maiden at Navan.

The Donnacha O’Brien-trained filly was beaten just a neck last time out by Port Fairy (Australia), with the winner subsequently narrowly denied in the Listed Cheshire Oaks. Switching to the turf on her third start, she was ridden prominently by Gavin Ryan and led approaching the two furlong marker. She dug deep when challenged by the favourite inside the final furlong, going on to prevail by a head on the line. The pair rallied over three lengths clear of the third.

Owned by Mrs Treasa O’Loughlin with MV Magnier, Lady Doris was bred by Tom and Geraldine Molan.
