Survie (Churchill) Wins On Debut At Deauville

Churchill Filly Strikes Late For Debut Win

Survie (2f Churchill - Sotteville, by Le Havre) was delivered late to make a winning debut in the fillies’ maiden at Deauville on Wednesday.

The Nicholas Clement-trained bay was well-supported ahead of the seven and a half furlong contest, in which Stephane Pasquier positioned her at the back of the field. Ridden on the turn for home, she ran on strongly to lead close home and won by a short neck, with the same distance back to Zoe (Ten Sovereigns) in third.

Survie is owned by Gerard Augustin-Normand and was bred under his Franklin Finance banner. Augustin-Normand has enjoyed a fine season with his juveniles, led by Group 3 winners Freville (Gleneagles) and Laulne (Starspangledbanner).
