Churchill Leads First Crop Sire Table At Tattersalls Book 1
Dual Guineas victor Churchill proved the most popular first crop sire at the Tattersalls Book 1 Yearling Sale, where 13 of his progeny sold for a combined 1,607,000gns.
Mountain View Stud was among the consignors to benefit from supporting Churchill in his first season and reaped the rewards when selling their colt out of Where’s Sue for 320,000gns to MV Magnier. Offered as Lot 530, the March-born bay is out of a winning full-sister to Group 3 winner Angel’s Hideaway and Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes second Perfect Angel.
Earlier in the week, MV Magnier went to 210,000gns for a Churchill colt offered by Clare Castle Stud. The bay is out of Rien Ne vas Plus, herself a half-sister to Epsom Derby victor North Light and dual Group 3 winner Cover Up.
The first day of trade offered a taste of what was to come, when Lot 145 from Highclere Stud sold for 160,000gns to Suzanne Roberts. The Churchill colt is out of Stakes performer Enrol and hails from the family of Group 1 winner Bakharoff.
Churchill’s other yearlings to fetch six-figure sums sold to Blandford Bloodstock, Peter and Ross Doyle, Michael Roy and Justin Casse.
