Classy No Nay Never Filly Takes Sprint Stakes
Cherry Blossom (3f No Nay Never – Canada Water, by Dansili) showed her class when running out a commanding winner of Friday’s Listed Polonia Stakes at Cork.
The Aidan O’Brien-trained filly was a talented juvenile, having finished second in both the Group 2 Lowther Stakes and valuable Goffs Millions, as well as taking fourth in the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes. Returning to her preferred good ground on Friday, she was sent off favourite as she dropped back to five and a half furlongs under Wayne Lordan. She made virtually all of the running and boasted a clear advantage when asked to quicken a furlong from home. She quickened well to win by a length and a half, with the leading trio finishing four lengths clear of the remainder.
A return to Group company and a trip to the UK is now likely for Cherry Blossom, according to stable representative Chris Armstrong. Bred by Barronstown Stud, the daughter of No Nay Never is owned by Coolmore partners with Westerberg.
