Classy Zoffany Filly Doubles Up At Deauville
The Andre Fabre-trained Rose D’Etoile (3f Zoffany - Highest Ever, by Galileo) completed back-to-back wins in fine style at Deauville on Monday.
Successful in a mile and a half maiden last time out, the daughter of Zoffany was sent off favourite for Monday’s mile and seven furlong conditions contest. Maxime Guyon rode the Coolmore Stud homebred to chase the leaders, asking her to quicken from two and a half furlongs out and produced a strong challenge on the outside to lead approaching the final furlong. Running on well, she scored by three lengths, with a further six lengths back to the third.
The same connections race Villa D’Amore (Mastercraftsman), who finished second in the Group 3 Prix Cleopatre season. Their second dam, Alpine Rose, won the Group 1 Prix Jean Romanet and is a full-sister to Group 1 Grand Prix de Saint Cloud victor Fragrant Mix.
