Nor Time Nor Tide (Ten Sovereigns) Gets Off The Mark At Killarney

Clear Winner Continues Fine Run For Ten Sovereigns

Nor Time Nor Tide (2c Ten Sovereigns - On Ice, by Galileo) became the latest winner by the in-form Ten Sovereigns when drawing clear at Killarney on Thursday afternoon.

A debut second over course and distance last month, Joseph O’Brien’s charge was last seen finishing third just nine days ago and was sent off favourite to get off the mark on the third attempt. Held up by Conor Stone-Walsh, he made smooth headway from two furlongs out and was ridden to lead approaching the final furlong. Soon clear, he scored by four and a quarter lengths, with another three and a quarter lengths back to the third horse.

A step up in class may now be on the cards for Nor Time Nor Tide, who holds entries in a pair of Group 2 races next month. The son of Ten Sovereigns is owned by Mrs John Magnier and Michael Tabor with breeder Mrs Ann Marie O’Brien.

It marked a second smart winner so far this week by Ten Sovereigns, with Joseph O’Brien having trained Nemonte (Ten Sovereigns) to record her second success on Tuesday. They continue a terrific run for Ten Sovereigns, who was responsible for a Stakes winner at the Curragh last week in the shape of the speedy Asean (Ten Sovereigns). The exciting young sire is represented by five Group/Stakes performers to date.
