Consistent Son Of Mastercraftsman Gains Deserved Success
Friday saw the Jessica Harrington owned and trained Jungle Cove (4g Mastercraftsman - Purple Glow, by Orientate) gain a deserved win when landing the mile maiden at Dundalk.
Previously placed on five occasions, the grey was reunited with Shane Foley on Friday and raced close to the pace for much of the way. Disputing from two furlongs out, he was soon pushed along and kept on strongly in the final furlong to win by two lengths.
Speaking after the race, Foley said, “Jungle Cove travelled through the race well, he won well. He's going to have a busy summer, he's a very good work horse so he'll be leading all them good ones at home.”
Bred by W Maxwell Ervine, Jungle Cove cost 100,000gns as a yearling and 70,000gns as a foal. The son of Mastercraftsman is a half-brother to dual Listed winner Main Desire (High Chaparral).
