Craftsman colt is Master in hot Newmarket maiden
The Mastercraftsman colt Master The World (2c Mastercraftsman-Zadalla, by Zaha) looks to have a bright future after easily beating some blue-blooded rivals in a Newmarket maiden on Thursday.
The mile maiden has been won by some smart performers in past years, including Telescope 12 months ago, and trainer Gerard Butler believes that Master The World could develop into a good three-year-old next season after seeing off his 17 rivals by two lengths.
The colt bounced back from a disappointing run at York on his previous start and Butler told PA Sport: "I don't know what happened at York, either it was the trip there or the trip across the course, but he didn't like it. I gave him a little break. I'm undecided what to do now, but I do think he'll make a nicer three-year-old."
Master The World was bred by A Hanahoe and was bought by Butler for 32,000 euros as a yearling at Goffs.
