Exciting No Nay Never Filly Proves Worth The Wait

All eyes were on Run Away (3f No Nay Never – Muirin, by Born To Sea) as the full-sister to Blackbeard (No Nay Never) debuted at Yarmouth on Tuesday, where she ran out a game winner of the fillies’ maiden.

The €2.6million yearling was not the only well-regarded prospect to line up in the seven furlong contest, with the field also including half-sisters to Group 1 winners Cachet, Jannah Rose and Program Trading. Run Away led for much of the race under Oisin Murphy and was ridden when challenged approaching the final furlong. She dug deep to prevail by a neck on the line, with another length back to the favourite in third.

“Andrew was patient with her and he liked her at home,” the winning rider later revealed. “Sheikh Fahad, David Howden and Henri Bozo have a really exciting filly. I rode her about 13 months ago at Longways Stables, who produced her, and she was a real standout with size and action. I know we’ve had to wait a while to see her at the races, but you can see why she was worth the wait.”

Run Away is the second foal bred by Newstead Breeding out of Muirin, whose first foal is dual Group 1 winning juvenile Blackbeard (No Nay Never).
