Eye heads G3 1-2 for Galileo
There was more Group-race success for Galileo at Leopardstown on Thursday evening when the Aidan O’Brien-trained Eye Of The Storm (4c Galileo-Mohican Princess, by Shirley Heights) captured the G3 Ballyroan Stakes.
The one-eyed four-year-old, bred by Kevin Molloy, was leading home a 1-2 for Galileo, with Qatar Racing’s Roheryn (3f Galileo-La Chunga, by More Than Ready) in second, and the winner could now head to America.
“I’m delighted with that. He has only one eye so some days he gets a bit intimated. When he came out of the stalls he wasn’t sure where he was for a moment and he went a bit right,” O’Brien told irishracing.com. “He settled into the race when he found out where he was. The other way suits him better as when he goes left handed he can’t see the rail. He is in the American Leger at Arlington and we will see how he is, he is a possibility for that.”
