Fast Filly Continues Smart Start For Ten Sovereigns

Thanksbutnothanks (2f Ten Sovereigns - Peshkova, by Shamardal) built on a promising debut to justify favouritism in Saturday’s five furlong maiden at Lingfield.

The daughter of Ten Sovereigns finished second to a more experienced rival at Ascot last month, and enjoyed a form boost when the winner followed up in good style next time out. The Dominic French Davis-trained bay was reunited with Kevin Stott on her second start and led from the early stages. Shaken up to go clear a furlong from home, she was ridden out to win by half a length from previous winner Mariamne.

Owned by Amo Racing, Thanksbutnothanks was bred by Ballygallon Stud out of a homebred half-sister to Group performer War Is War (Galileo). She continues a bright start by the first crop of Ten Sovereigns, whose first runner Brighter made a winning debut in April. The freshman sire’s likely Royal Ascot runners include Do It With Style and Nemonte, who both won at the Curragh on debut.
