One Master (Fastnet Rock) Wins The Group 1 Prix De La Foret at ParisLongchamp

Fastnet Rock Mare Makes History With Foret Hat Trick

One Master (6m Fastnet Rock - Enticing, by Pivotal) displayed her trademark grit and determination when landing Sunday’s Group 1 Prix de la Foret, and, in turn, made history as the first horse to win it three times.

The Lael Stables homebred came into the race in good form; having won a Group 3 at Glorious Goodwood, before finishing second in two Group 2 contests over Sunday’s distance of seven furlongs. Reunited with Pierre-Charles Boudot at Longchamp, William Haggas’charge raced in midfield, improving from two furlongs out and was driven to produce a strong challenge approaching the final furlong. Running on strongly, she dug deep to lead close home, denying favourite Earthlight by a neck on the line.

Boudot is already dreaming of next year, saying after the race, “I love her. When I asked her, she was very strong in the last furlong. Hopefully we'll be able to come back for four in a row.”

William Haggas was similarly thrilled and said, “We're really proud of her. She's a fantastic filly and she seems to come good over this track and trip. She wants to win.” On future aims, he added, “She'll have another run. She's in the Sprint and the QEII at Ascot and I quite fancy the Breeders' Cup in Keeneland for her this year as she's quite nippy. We haven't missed a beat with her this year and I'm thrilled for everyone involved.”
