Fastnet Rock Sires Smart Maiden Winner At Galway

The Jessica Harrington-trained Rocket Science (3f Fastnet Rock - Hairy Rocket, by Pivotal) produced a smart performance to get off the mark at Galway on Tuesday.

One of 12 to line up for the Caulfield Industrial Irish EBF Maiden over seven furlongs, she raced prominently under Shane Foley and was driven to challenge at the two furlong pole. Asserting approaching the final furlong, she raced clear and won by three lengths from the favourite Teed Up (Gleneagles).

Racing in the colours of Miss AH Marshall, Rocket Science was bred by Frank Dunner out of Queen Mary Stakes third Hairy Rocket. The daughter of Fastnet Rock provides an important update for her half-brother by Churchill, who fetched €140,000 at last year’s foal sales.
