First foal for World Champion Sottsass

Fittingly, the first foal by World Champion Sottsass was born at Ecurie des Monceaux where he himself was bred. Out of Landikusic, an own-sister to Group 1-winning juvenile and Classic sire Zoffany, the attractive filly was bred by the LNJ Foxwood Partnership.

Manager Henri Bozo commented "She is very much stamped by her sire with the same quality and presence, a lovely head and good scope. We are all very happy with her."

Mares owned by Ecurie des Monceaux in foal to Sottsass include After Dawn, a half-sister to Group 1 winners Ectot and Most Improved, along with Avocate from the same family.

Sottsass has proven a big hit with breeders and is looking a million dollars. We caught up with Mark Clarke of Wardstown Stud, Bill Dwan of Castlebridge and Nelius Hayes of Knockainey Stud recently to hear why they’re supporting the record-breaking son of Siyouni.
