First foals arriving for Classic winner Magna Grecia
Breeders are welcoming the highly anticipated first foals by Magna Grecia, the winner of the Vertem Futurity Stakes-Gr.1 and 2,000 Guineas-Gr.1. A filly out of the Dansili mare Intizara, is the first foal born this year under the Suffolk-based Redgate Bloodstock banner which is run by Damian and Emma Flynn.
“We’re really pleased with her, she’s athletic and correct with a great temperament,” commented Damian Flynn. Bred by Humber Bloodstock, the filly hails from the family of Gr.1 winner Zambezi Sun.
Magna Grecia, the first son of Invincible Spirit to win Group 1’s at both two and three years, is out of the Galileo mare Cabaret, a winner of the Silver Flash Stakes-Gr.3. This makes him a half-brother to last season’s Dewhurst Stakes-Gr.1 winner St Mark’s Basilica.
Magna Grecia will stand his second season at Coolmore for a fee of €18,000.
