First Foals for Churchill and Highland Reel

The first foals of Coolmore’s multiple Group 1 winning champions, Churchill (Galileo) and Highland Reel (Galileo), were born over the weekend.

European Champion 2YO and dual Guineas winner Churchill sired a colt foal at Wadacre Stud in England on Saturday out of the dual Stakes winner Trip To Glory. “He’s a smashing colt, we are so pleased with him that we booked the mare back to Churchill straight away” said Jeanette Matthews-Griffiths, “he’s all quality.”

Then on Sunday morning at Haras de Saint Julien in Normandy the maiden mare Sundene produced a foal by 7-time Gr.1 winner Highland Reel. Owner Antoinette Tamagni-Bodmer stated that “it’s a very nice filly foal indeed. We are thrilled it’s the first foal by Highland Reel and the first of the season on my farm. We will be supporting Highland Reel again this year.”
