Full Sister To Arizona Gets Off The Mark
The well-related Never Ending (3f No Nay Never - Lady Ederle, by English Channel) led home a 1-2 for No Nay Never in the Fillies’ Novice Stakes at Goodwood on Friday.
John and Thady Gosden’s charge finished a promising fourth on her sole two-year-old start and returned to take second in a Newmarket maiden, with the winner having since gained black-type. Sent off favourite to go one better, she raced prominently under Benoit De La Sayette and was ridden from the two furlong pole. Leading inside the final 110 yards, she kept on well to beat Bloomwithgrace (No Nay Never) by three parts of a length.
Never Ending was bought by owner Cheveley Park Stud as a yearling for 825,000gns, having been pinhooked by Stauffenberg Bloodstock for €260,000. Bred by Stephen Sullivan, the daughter of No Nay Never is a full-sister to Group 2 Coventry Stakes winner and Group 1 Dewhurst Stakes second Arizona (No Nay Never), as well as dual Graded winner and Grade 1 performer Nay Lady Nay (No Nay Never).
