Full Sister To Kew Gardens Gains Group 3 Win
Snow (3f Galileo - Chelsea Rose, by Desert King) continued on an upward curve this season when justifying favouritism in the Group 3 Munster Oaks at Cork on Sunday.
Successful in a Curragh maiden on her seasonal return, the Aidan O’Brien trained filly finished a close third next time out in the Group 3 Blue Wind Stakes over ten furlongs. Sent off favourite on her first start over a mile and a half, the full-sister to Kew Gardens (Galileo) was ridden to chase the leaders by Wayne Lordan and was ridden to lead from two furlongs out. Digging deep inside the final furlong, she ran on well to win by a length and a quarter.
There could be more to come from the winner according to Lordan, who said, “She's a lovely, straightforward filly. She's stepping up as she's going up in trip. It feels like she's improving. She stayed well and is a sister to Kew Gardens, so the extra trip is a huge help.”
Bred by Barronstown Stud, Snow was bought by MV Magnier as a yearling for 1,200,000gns.
