Endless Sunshine (Churchill) Wins On Debut at Navan

Future Looks Bright For Churchill’s Latest Winner

Endless Sunshine (3f Churchill - Crazy Volume, by Machiavellian) produced a smart debut performance to lead home a 1-2-3 for Coolmore sires in the fillies’ maiden at Navan.

Nathan Crosse took the ride aboard the Jessica Harrington-trained newcomer and positioned the bay in midfield for much of the ten furlong contest. She had plenty of ground to make up when pushed along approaching the two furlong pole and began to run on strongly a furlong later. Running on well, she led close home to win by a head from the favourite Letiza (Holy Roman Emperor), while Expelliarmus (Churchill) finished well to take third.

Speaking after the race, the winning rider said, “She was just a bit green and behind the bridle early. As soon as the penny dropped with her, she was good and game the whole way to the line. Onwards and upwards for her now.”

Endless Sunshine is owned by Zhang Yuesheng, whose Yulong Investments joined with BBA Ireland to purchase the winner as a yearling for €100,000. Bred by Lynch Bages Ltd and Camas Park Stud, the daughter of Churchill is a half-sister to dual Group 1 winner Gallante (Montjeu).
