Galileo bandwagon continues
The amazing Galileo continues to fire in the winners and on Sunday his achievements included being represented by both a G3 winner in France and a two-year-old who looks to out of the very top drawer.
At Deauville in France, the globetrotting Gatewood (6h Galileo-Felicity, by Selkirk), winner of the 2012 Geelong Cup in Australia, ran out a convincing victor of the G3 Prix De Reux.
Meanwhile at the Curragh in Ireland, John F Kennedy (2c Galileo-Rumplestiltskin, by Danehill) ran out a brilliant maiden winner, prompting bookmakers to quote him as favourite for the 2015 Derby.
“He’s a very smart colt but we will take our time with him,” said trainer Aidan O’Brien. “He was still a bit babyish even though he won nicely today. The penny hadn’t dropped with him first time out at Leopardstown.”
