Galileo filly Astonishing one to follow
Astonishing (3f Galileo-Amazing Krisken, by Kris S) made light work of her rivals at Newmarket on Thursday when putting in a career-best effort to win the Listed Princess Royal Richard Hambro EBF Stakes.
Lady Rothschild’s filly came home seven lengths clear of Songbird (4f Danehill Dancer-Mine Excavation, by Galileo) to score in tremendous style and trainer Sir Michael Stoute believes the winner could be even better next year.
"We changed things around a bit from the weekend, we dropped her out and put a ring bit on her. She did it very nicely. I'm not sure there's anything left for her, she has had two quick races, but I'm almost certain the owners will keep her in training. She's still an unfurnished filly," Stoute told PA Sport.
Astonishing, who was bought as foal for 190,000gns by James Wigan, was bred by Azienda Agricola Rosati Colarieti and is a full-sister to the French G3 winner Sub Rose and out of a daughter of G2 winner Magic Gleam.
