Gustav Klimt Colt Lives Up To Expectations
Forest Demon (2c Gustav Klimt - Black Meyeden, by Black Minnaloushe) justified strong market support to get off the mark at Kempton on Wednesday.
Daniel and Claire Kubler’s charge was sent off favourite for the seven furlong contest and raced in midfield under Richard Kingscote. Ridden approaching the two furlong marker, he improved to assert close home, leading by a neck on the line.
Sold by Castlehyde Stud as a yearling for £60,000, Forest Demon was bred by M Phelan. The improving colt hails from the first crop of Gustav Klimt, himself a Group 2 winner as a juvenile, before being Group 1 placed on multiple occasions as a three-year-old. His first runners also include impressive debut winner Sopran Blakey (Gustav Klimt), who was last seen claiming runners-up honours at Listed level.
