Hazel Lavery pretty as a picture
Hazel Lavery (3f Excellent Art-Reprise (Darshaan) displayed talent and toughness in abundance to post a deserved success in the Newbury’s G3 Worthington's Champion Shield Navigation Brewery Stakes.
The Charlie Hills-trained filly dug deep in testing conditions to gamely repel the challenge of Noble Mission in the closing stages and prevail by half a length.
The Excellent Art filly had finished second in the G2 Park Hill Stakes at Doncaster on her previous start and her trainer, Charlie Hills, feels she could be an exciting prospect for 2013.
“Hazel Lavery is in the December Sales but I’d love to keep her because she is improving all the time and should do really well next season,” Hills told the Racing Post.
