Idaho Mare Gets Off The Mark At Ballindenisk
Carry On Heidi (5m Idaho – Carry On Walker, by) built on last month’s promising seasonal return to win the five-year-old mares maiden at Ballindenisk on Saturday.
Trained by Jerry Baragry for owner/breeder Patricia Baragry, she raced in mid-division for much of the way under Rob James and improved to lead before the second last. Quickening approaching the final fence, she overcame a blunder to beat the favourite Grandala (Flemensfirth) by a length and a half.
Carry On Heidi hails from the first crop of Beeches Stud sire Idaho, a multiple Group winner and full-brother to Highland Reel. His first runners include Idaho Sun, who beat four Irish point-to-point winners on debut, and is entered in a valuable bumper at Windsor’s Berkshire Winter Millions meeting.
Idaho has also been represented by four-year-old maiden winner Long Branch and six-figure point-to-point graduate Quantum Quest.
