No Nay Never Paddock

Impressive Performance By No Nay Never Newcomer

The Clive Cox-trained Eardley Road (3c No Nay Never - Corking, by Montjeu) impressed when making a winning debut over six furlongs at Kempton on Thursday.

The bay showed some inexperience in the early stages when racing towards the back of the field but displayed an excellent turn of foot to make good headway approaching the furlong pole and ran on strongly to score by three lengths under Hector Crouch.

The Paul Smith-owned colt attracted some market support before the race, perhaps due to his 130,000gns price tag as a yearling. Purchased by Charlie Gordon-Watson Bloodstock at Tattersalls, he was bred by Emiliano Colabolleta and is half-brother to the useful Anythingtoday (Zoffany). Their dam is a winning half-sister to Hong Kong Derby and Hong Kong Gold Cup victor Sobriety.
