Kingston Hill Colt Emulates Sire With Debut Win

Face of Energima (2c Kingston Hill - Havannas Dream, by Lord Shanakill) became the latest winner by his first season sire when scoring on debut at Ovrevoll on Thursday.

The Niels Petersen-trained juvenile was sent off favourite of six who lined up for the six furlong contest and won by three parts of a length under Rafael Schistl. Owned by Stall Energima, the winner was bred by Fellowship Racing out of Norwegian 1,000 Guineas winner Havannas Dream.

Kingston Hill himself won on debut and remained unbeaten as a juvenile, taking the Group 3 Autumn Stakes and Group 1 Racing Post Trophy that season. The son of Mastercraftsman trained on to finish second to Australia in the Epsom Derby and gained his second top-level success when taking the St. Leger at Doncaster.

Kingston Hill commands €5,000 at Castle Hyde Stud.
