Likeable Newcomer Continues Fine Run For Zoffany

Feathers (2f Zoffany - Broadway Duchess, by New Approach) displayed a likeable attitude when battling to a debut success in Monday’s Fillies’ Novice Stakes at Goodwood.

Pat Dobbs rode Richard Hannon’s charge to track the leaders for much of the seven furlong contest and asked her to quicken approaching the final furlong. Driven out, the chesnut ran on well close home to deny longtime leader Basilicata in the shadow of the post.

There should be more to come from the Lord De La Warr-owned winner, who was bred out of Listed performer Broadway Duchess. Feathers’ debut win comes just a day after Lyzbeth (Zoffany) captured the Listed Cathedral Stakes at the same track.
