Listed Winner Continues Smart Start By Ten Sovereigns
Mysterious Shadow (2f Ten Sovereigns - Eclairante, by High Chaparral) became the third Stakes winner from the first crop of Ten Sovereigns when making it two from two in the Listed Premio Coolmore at San Siro.
The Endo Botti-trained filly justified favouritism in good style last month and headed the market once again on Sunday. Settled towards the back of the field by Dario Di Tocco, she quickened turning for home and ran on between rivals approaching the two furlong pole. Running on well, she was eased down close home to score by a length and three quarters.
Mysterious Shadow is closely related to Botti’s Listed winner and Italian 1,000 Guineas runner-up Estrosa (Sioux Nation). Owned by Scuderia Santese and bred by Charel Bloodstock, she joins Inquisitively and Asean as Listed winners by Ten Sovereigns. The freshman sire is responsible for eight Stakes horses in total, including Group 3 Round Tower Stakes second Mansa Musa and the multiple Group-placed Kalispera.
