Lots To Like About Wootton Bassett’s Latest Juvenile Winner

Jettie’s Run (2f Wootton Bassett – Jo Jo Air, by Scat Daddy) shaped like a smart prospect when winning what looked a competitive fillies’ novice stakes at Kempton on Friday.

The Ralph Beckett-trained filly was sent off favourite for the six furlong contest following her debut second over course and distance, with the winner of that race now rated 90. She was ridden more patiently on Friday, racing towards the back of the field until Rob Hornby asked her to quicken in the straight. Ridden approaching the final furlong, she ran on gamely to lead close home, beating a €220,000 purchase by half a length, with another half a length back to a 425,000gns filly in third.

Owned by Marc Chan and Andrew Rosen, Jettie’s Run was bred by Edward Walsh out of the Listed-winning and Grade 3 placed Scat Daddy mare Jo Jo Air.
