Mastercraftsman South American Grade I Winner
Quality colt Ya Primo (3c Mastercraftsman x Yo Quisiera, by Special Quest) scored a commanding win in the Grade I Clasico El Derby at Valparaiso in Chile on Sunday.
Trained by Guillermo Aguirre, Ya Primo strode clear to win the 2400 metre turf contest by more than four lengths taking his overall record to four wins from eight starts.
Ya Primo is the best of seven winners from Yo Quisiera, a half-sister to Chilean Horse of the Year Gadanes.
He is the 12th Group I winner for versatile sire Mastercraftsman and is his second in South America.
