Masterful Juvenile Double For No Nay Never
Master McGrath (2c No Nay Never - Dacio, by Harlan’s Holiday) became No Nay Never’s second juvenile winner of the day when taking the five furlong maiden at Sandown on Thursday.
Just hours after Mr Kiki’s success at Yarmouth, the Kevin Ryan-trained Master McGrath was sent off favourite of ten runners, having finished second on debut at Ascot last month. The brown colt broke sharply under Kevin Stott and made all of the running, ridden along from two furlongs out and stayed on well to beat Sand Diego (Starspangledbanner) by half a length.
Owned by ‘The Masters,’ Master McGrath was a €130,000 yearling buy at the Goffs Orby Sale, having cost €85,000 at the venue’s foal sale the previous winter. He was bred by Highpark Bloodstock out of Dacio, a half-sister to Group 3 performer Absolute Music.
