Millisle The Latest Impressive Winner By Starspangledbanner
Millisle (2f Starspangledbanner - Green Castle, by Indian Ridge) continued her sires fine run this season when making an impressive winning debut in the five furlong maiden at Bellewstown on Thursday.
Ridden close to the pace by Tom Madden, the Jessica Harrington-trained filly disputed from halfway and asserted with a furlong and a half left to race. Extending her advantage under hands and heels, she beat the favourite Phase After Phase by four lengths and three quarters.
Speaking on behalf of the winning trainer, Richie Galway commented after the race, “Millisle is one that Jessica has always liked. It's not easy to come here without experience but she's very straightforward and is obviously very quick.”
Bred and owned by Stonethorn Stud Farms, Millisle is a half-sister to Listed winner Ithoughtitwasover and black-type performer Greenisland, herself now the dam of two Stakes horses.
