More To Come From No Nay Never’s Latest Winner
Sunday saw Love Locket (2f No Nay Never - Starlet, by Sea The Stars) gain her first career win when justifying favoritism in the six furlong Fillies Maiden at Naas.
Fourth on debut last month, she was next pitched at Group 3 company when the ground was unsuitably heavy. Now sent off favourite under Donnacha O’Brien, she was ridden close to the pace and disputed from a furlong and a half out, running on well under pressure to win by a length from stablemate Darkest.
There should be more to come from Love Locket, with winning trainer Aidan O’Brien later commenting, “She's learning and Donnacha said she was still a bit green today. He said she will get much further than six too which is good. I'd say that will be it for this year.”
Bred by Springbank Way Stud, Love Locket was a €700,000 yearling purchase by MV Magnier. She is a half-sister to Listed winner Raakib Alhawa and comes from the family of High Chaparral.
