More To Come From Winning Newcomer By Zoffany
Louganini (2g Zoffany - Princess Loulou, by Pivotal) announced himself as one-to-watch when making a winning debut in Saturday’s seven furlong Novice Stakes at Newmarket.
Trained by Roger Charlton for Imad Alsagar, the chestnut raced in midfield under Jason Watson and began to make headway from two furlongs out. Ridden to lead inside the final furlong, he stayed on strongly to win by two lengths and three quarters.
"Louganini was very raw in the race and won despite his greenness. He may take a few more runs for him to know what it's all about, but he's a nice prospect.” commented jockey Jason Watson.
Louganini was bred by owner Imad Alsagar in partnership with Saleh Al Homaizi and is the first foal out of Listed winner Princess Loulou.
