No Nay Never averages 476,250gns at Tattersalls

After a sensational Goffs Orby Sale, the demand for No Nay Never’s second crop showed no sign of abating as Tattersalls’ October Yearling Sale got underway on Tuesday, with an average price of 476,250gns on the day.

Leading the way was a 650,000gns full-sister to G1-placed The Irish Rover (2c No Nay Never-Shelley Beach, by Danehill Dancer) who was bought by Kerri Radcliffe for a partnership of American owners Sheila Rosenblum and George Bolton.

“She had such a class, a beautiful walk and beautiful conformation,” said Rosenblum, paying a first visit to Tattersalls. “I had my eye on her for a couple of days. We need another Scat Daddy and the stallion is really proving himself. She looked like she’d be an early two-year-old, which was what I wanted.”

A full-sister to this year’s G1 Middle Park Stakes hero Ten Sovereigns (2c No Nay Never-Seeking Solace, by Exceed And Excel) was another in demand, eventually selling to M V Magnier for 600,000gns.

“No Nay Never is doing an incredible job," said Magnier. "Obviously we were very unlucky to lose Scat Daddy but we are lucky to have No Nay Never and Caravaggio in Ireland, and Justify in the US.”

Meanwhile US agent Shawn Dugan struck early to get a full-sister to leading juvenile No Needs Never (2c No Nay Never-Opera Fan, by Cape Cross) for 525,000gns.

“We’re trying to buy some fillies to become broodmares. It’s more fun buying for an end user and this filly has now found her forever home. We’re not too concerned about what she does on the race track,” said Dugan.
