No Nay Never Colt Dismisses Stakes Winning Rivals With Ease
The highly-rated Never Just A Dream (2c No Nay Never - Poetic Imagination, by Exceed And Excel) impressed when beating two Stakes winners in Tuesday’s Class 2 conditions race at Newcastle.
The Ismail Mohammed-trained colt came into the race with a rating of 93 from two wins, including over course and distance last month. Ridden to make all by Cameron Noble, he travelled strongly throughout and was full of running two furlongs from home. Pushed clear approaching the final furlong, he led by two and a half lengths on the line, as Stakes winners claimed second and third.
“That was very good,” Ismaeil Mohammed said after the race. “There were two horses with ratings in the 100s and he is 93 so to run like that is very good.” Tuesday’s win saw Never Just A Dream qualify for the All-Weather Championship Finals, but his trainer is focussed further afield for now. “I'm not sure whether he'll go back for Finals Day, he's going to Dubai next week and he'll be running at the Carnival. Then we'll decide.”
Owned by Saeed Al Tayer, the talented son of No Nay Never was bred by Frank Antonacci and David Reid.
