No Nay Never Colt Justifies Support On Second Start
Spirit Of Leros (2c No Nay Never – Spiritus Sanctus, by Invincible Spirit) built on last month’s promising debut to justify favouritism at Lingfield on Thursday evening.
Marco Botti’s charge finished fifth over the minimum trip at Ascot and stepped up to six furlongs in Thursday’s novice stakes. Ridden prominently by Marco Ghiani, the bay led before the two furlong pole and showed his inexperience when ridden a furlong later. Racing clear in the final 110 yards, he went on to score by three lengths.
Owned by Paul Hunt, the promising son of No Nay Never was bred by Lady Bamford.
