Royal Commando (No Nay Never) Wins The Listed Cammidge Trophy Stakes at Doncaster

No Nay Never Colt Secures Stakes Success On Return

Royal Commando (4c No Nay Never - Online Alexander, by Acclamation) gained a deserved Stakes success on his seasonal return in Saturday’s Listed Cammidge Trophy Stakes at Doncaster.

Fourth in the Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes as a two-year-old, the Charlie Hills-trained colt filled the same position in the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup the following year and was reunited with Kieran Shoemark on his four-year-old return.

Racing in midfield in the early stages, he was pushed along to make headway from two furlongs out and chased down the leaders entering the final furlong. Ridden to lead inside the final furlong, he ran on well to win by a length and three quarters.

Owned by Ziad A Galadari, Royal Commando was bought by Andrew Sime as a yearling for 125,000gns. The son of No Nay Never is one of two Stakes horses bred by Mountarmstrong Stud out of the black-type mare Online Alexander.
