Mystery Power (No Nay Never) wins the Gr.2 Superlative Stakes at Newmarket

No Nay Never Colt Stamps Class In Superlative Stakes

Mystery Power (2c No Nay Never - Gems, by Haafhd) kickstarted a Group double for his sire on Saturday, when taking the Group 2 Superlative Stakes at Newmarket.

The Richard Hannon trained colt won on debut last month and remained over the seven furlong trip, this time with Oisin Murphy in the saddle. He chased the leaders until asserting over two furlongs out and was driven out to hold off a strong finish by Juan Elcano in the final furlongs, prevailing by a length on the line. The first two finished over three lengths clear of the third.

Murphy commented on the winner, “Mystery Power could be a very nice horse. He got the trip very well and was very professional. He's got a lovely temperament which is typical of his sire No Nay Never. He's a horse for the future.”

Owned by King Power Racing, Mystery Power was bred by Siobhan O’Rahilly and was bought by Sackville Donald as a yearling for 250,000gns. He is a half-brother to the highly-rated Fayez (Zoffany) and Group 3 Prix Miesque second Seaella, and provides an exciting update for his yearling half-brother by Australia, who was bought as a foal by Glenvale Stud.
